M. Jean Ligon has been practicing law in the State of Michigan since 1991.  Over the past two decades, Ms. Ligon has represented hundreds of clients in the areas of Probate & Estate Planning, Elder Law, Family Law, Business Law, Real Estate, Zoning & Land Use, Environmental Law and Equine Law matters.  She is licensed to practice in all Michigan state courts, and in federal courts in the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan, the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Ms. Ligon is a published author and frequent speaker on a wide variety of legal topics within her practice areas.  She holds a certificate in Probate Law and Estate Planning from the Michigan Institute of Continuing Legal Education ("ICLE"), and has served as an ICLE commentator  on environmental law and estate planning courses, most recently the Fundamentals of Estate Planning, and Preparing Estate and Gift Tax Returns and Post-Death Tax Planning.  Ms. Ligon is Vice-Chair of the Putnam Township Planning Commission and serves as Chair of the Environmental, Land Use & Zoning Committee of the Michigan Horse Council.
